Thermosetting solution composition and prepreg
Yamaguchi and Aoki of Ube Industries, Ltd., Japan, developed a thermosetting solution of a biphenyltetracarboxylic acid containing a partial lower aliphatic alkyl ester of 2,3,3',4'-biphenyltetracarboxylic acid and/or a partial lower aliphatic alkyl ester of 2,2',3,3'-biphenyltetracarboxylic acid, an aromatic diamine compound in a molar amount larger than a molar amount of the biphenyltetracarboxylic acid compound, a partial lower aliphatic alkyl ester of 4-(2-phenylethynyl)phthalic acid compound in a molar amount as much as 1.8-2.2 times a molar amount corresponding to a difference between the molar amount of the aromatic diamine compound and the molar amount of the biphenyltetracarboxylic acid compound, and an organic solvent composed of a lower aliphatic alcohol is of value for manufacture of a prepreg. Bauer et al of Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft and Airbus, Germany, developed a textile web impregnated with a mixture that contains at least a prepolymer prepolymerized from a starting material of one or more bifunctional or polyfunctional organic cyanates and from a starting material of one or more bifunctional or polyfunctional aromatic alcohols, wherein the one or more bifunctional or polyfunctional organic cyanates and the one or more bifunctional or polyfunctional aromatic alcohols are present in weight ratios ensuring a molar ratio of the OCN groups to the OH groups between 95:5 and 70:30 prior to prepolymerization. Resin composition, and prepreg
Yokoe et al of Toho Tenax Co., Japan, developed a prepreg containing 100 parts by mass of a component (A) which is an epoxy resin; 41 to 80 parts by mass of a component (B) which is thermoplastic resin particles; and 20 to 50 parts by mass (in terms of diaminodiphenylsulfone) of a component (C) which is diaminodiphenylsulfone microencapsulated with a coating agent. The thermoplastic resin particles (B) comprise at least thermoplastic resin particles (B1) having an average particle diameter of 1 to 50 .mu.m and thermoplastic resin particles (B2) having an average particle diameter of 2 to 100 .mu.m at a mass ratio of 3:1 to 1:3. The average particle diameter ratio D2/D1 of the average particle diameter D2 of the thermoplastic resin particles (B2) to the average particle diameter D1 of the thermoplastic resin particles (B1) is 2 or more.
