Dispersant viscosity modifiers based on diene-containing polymers

Kolp et al of Lubrizol have developed a dispsersant for fuels and lubricants in heavy duty diesel engines to keep soot dispersed and reduce viscosity increases. This dispersant consists of  isobutylene diene copolymers with 1 to 4 equivalents carboxylic acid groups per 1000 units combined with amines.
