Nanometer sized single crystals, or single-domain ultrafine particles, are often
referred to as nanocrystals
. The term NanoCrystal® is a registered trademark of Elan Pharma
International (EPIL) used in relation to EPIL’s proprietary milling process and
nanoparticulate drug formulations.
